Random Thoughts: Stubborn Heart

The best kiss in the world is when you're feelin at your crappiest and you receive it unexpectedly at the most inconvenient moment of your day. I just love the feeling of security... My stubborn heart can't handle this simple gesture. It awesomely flips crazy and it falls inlove all over again.

Review: Holika Holika Oil Queen Cotton Primer SPF 15

Hello ladies!!!

How's it going?  I hope life does not suck out the best in you hehehe... wow I kind of sound sour.  Well,  I promised last time that I'll be droppin' here frequently but I guess I broke off my word (sad face).  Awwww life had been pretty rough but God knows how I try to be tough (drama queen mode) hehehe.  Enough of my rants and let us proceed with something that can make us all smile... make up hahaha.  For tonight's review,  I'll be sharing my musings on Holika Holika Oil Queen Cotton Primer.  This has been sitting for quite sometime on my dresser but it's only this month that I have the chance to road test it.
Product Description
Holika Holika Oil Queen Cotton Primer is a transparent make up base that is formulated to control oil while keeping the skin soft, pure and protected with its SPF 15. It does not contain mineral oil, Paraben, Talc, Vaseline and Ethanol.

Key Ingredients and their benefits (brief) :
Cotton Extract 0.05% - It has emollient properties that can soften rough skin leaving it smooth and silky.
Iceland Glacial Milk - It has great skin hydration and anti-aging properties and complexion brightening effects.
Green Tea Extract - A very popular and acknowledged skincare ingredient with anti-inflammatory agent which can reduce and heal skin problems and infections.
Calamine - It calms down irritated oily and acne prone skin.

Volume: 30 ml
Price: PhP465.00
Availability:  I think Holika Holika is not yet sold locally but it can be pre-ordered or bought online.  I got mine from Korean Cosmetics PH.
For complete ingredient list, you may check out the picture below.
Packaging
As seen on the first picture (above), this primer comes in a pretty turquoise and orange-y box and in a sturdy-opaque-plastic bottle (photo below).  Prolly' the only flaw of an opaque container would be the fact that you can't see when you're running out of the product and you want to repurchase before you consume it plus since it is a hard plastic bottle, you won't be able to cut the tube out and use every drop of the product like what I always do on my make ups packaged in squeeze-it-type tubes hehehe.
The pout is also protected by a tiny covering which prevents the primer from spilling or from drying up.
It has also a conventional yet functional pump that can be controlled when dispensing the needed amount of the product.
As for the consistency, the primer has the right texture of runny-ness and thickness.  I like that it can be spread and blended easily on either bare face or prepped face with moisturizer or sunblock.
As for the color,  you might think that it is uberly fair for my complexion but mind you, this primer is really transparent and won't show a bit once blended which is good coz it won't alter the shade of the foundie or bb you'll use on top.  As for the coverage, since this is a very sheer primer, don't expect that it can conceal any imperfections the skin have.
The scent is much much loved.  I find it powder-y and baby-ish which gradually fades as soon as the primer sets.
As for the oil control,  I must say I am really impressed by how it has improved the oiliness of my skin.  I usually use this after my moisturizer on mornings (around 8am) topped with my current two-way cake powder and it does great in keeping its promise. To those who have been visiting my site knew how greasy my skin innately and this primer some how prevented that.  Well, I touch up my make up by lunch time around 12:30 pm to be exact.  So I guess, I have 4 hours before I need some blotting paper or tissue rescue hehehe.
Frozen Blossom's thoughts:
I have been using this for more than two weeks now and I'm glad my skin loves it.  No break outs so far.  This is highly recommended for ladies with oily and acne prone skin.

Till next time...good night!!!

Haul: Etude House, Tony Moly and The FaceShop

Hello Sunday!!!

How's your weekend so far?  I hope it went great like mine =).  Well,  I'm a very shallow person when it comes to being happy.  Simple gestures always make my heart flutter and I'm so thankful that despite the complications in life (really stressful thoughts) I can still manage to show off a sparkly smile.  Life is supposed to be enjoyed ayt?

And before I say hello to manic Monday, lemme share my recent Korean cosmetics hoardings.

So here goes the items I got from KKOCHIPIDA.  Say hello to my first ever CC Cream from Etude House.  I know I'm kinda late but I still want to give this one a try and share my raves too.
Next is another BB cream from the Dear Girls collection of Etude House also.  A make up plus skincare fetish I'll never skip.
Something from a favorite brand, Tony Moly caught my eyes as well.  Anything for the eyebrows is a must when I go shopping as always.  I'm all hopes with the new 7 days Tatoo Eyebrow.
And finally,  few must have from the The FaceShop which I got from the last time I visited the metro.  I did a pretty quick shopping at their SM Mall of Asia outlet and splurge a thousand bucks so I can grab the Kim Hyun Joong post it lol.
Again,  I got one Lovely Me: EX BB Cream, their beginners' bb and really mild make up which according to the SA is very safe for teens and teens-no-more (like me with seriously raging hormones).
An addition to my lip and cheek tint collection is their Lovely Me: Ex Aqua Tint.
And lastly, I got one super creamy and really moisturizing lipstick in #2 (Waaaaa I forgot the exact name, please just kill me lol).
And woooohoooo, my uberly cute Kim Hyun Joong post it!!!
Frozen Blossoms' thoughts:
That's it for my most recent acquisitions and I hope to road test them the soonest.  Keep visiting ladies!!!

Anneong!!!

Gifts: Lee Lee's Beauty Secrets and other Benefit Must Have

Hi ladies!!!

Life has been fairly demanding and I can't even have the luxury time to check my emails anymore.  Well,  I have been hanging out a lot and as always laughing my heart out hoping that the instance will just last the way I want to remember it (I know I am pretty melodramatic tonight - reality sucks though which makes me feel more snarled).
Well that explains why this month I only dropped one post (to be exact eerrghhhh).  And so before I bid this month good bye, lemme share a gift I got from a friend who works for Benefit overseas.  Again, thanks sis for the love.

I am thrilled to share that she gave me Lee Lee's Beauty Secrets package.  Despite, the bad day and heart aches, at least I have something to make me smile.
Tadaahhhh... this set is love with all the all time favorite from Benefit.
It is a great gift to ladies who love to flaunt a bright and flawless skin,  a touch of glamorous eyes and a wisp of an elegant scent.
So here are the diamonds inside... Laugh with me Lee Lee by Benefit Eau de toilette (10ml)
The most talked about, Benefit They're Real Beyond Mascara (full size).
A favorite of mine,  Benefit That Gal Brightening Face Primer (full size).
Say bye to big pores with The POREfessional (7.5ml) which I have already reviewed previously.
The Following Benefit products were not part of Lee lee Beauty Secrets set and I'm very fortunate to have them as well.

Something that I have been lookin' forward, Benefit Fine One One for Cheeks and Lips (full size).
Feel teen-y and pretty with Benefit Throbb (full size).  This one was for my boss but she gave it to me since the blush shade does not match her skin tone.
Then lastly,  I got two lip gloss from the Ticket to Glossylover.  Actually, we decided to split this one so we can all try it hehehe.
Frozen Blossoms' thoughts:
Make ups make me smile even when I'm badly aching inside.  Thanks sis for this handful of Benefit products!!!  I love you much!!!

So guys, I hope you start visiting my site again coz I promise to drop here more often starting this July.

Anneong!

Review: Etude House Goodbye Pore Ever Pore Primer Stick

Hello Sunday!!!

How's it goin' ladies?  Well, I am hoping for the rainy days to embrace Ilocos however the mugginess makes me think I am living in the desert.  The climate here has always been crazy like me lol.  Life is supposed to be fun and exciting but sometimes disappointments spoil our day from the unmet expectations (just sayin' though we all encounter bad days).  So before I call it a night and drown this melancholy to sleep lemme drop a shorty review of Frozen Blossom's sweetheart  this month ofJune.
Product Description
The Etude House Goodbye Pore Ever is a stick-type pore primer formulated to control the secretion of sebum while improving and extending make up coverage.

Volume: 4.5g (0.15oz.)
Price: PhP395.00
Availability: all Etude House Branches and counters (I got mine from Korean Cosmetics for Less / Kkochipida)
How to use: (apply after usual skincare routine)
1. Twist to dispense stick-type balm.
2. Apply to areas with visible pores and areas that oils up the most(t-zone usually)
3. Apply liquid foundie, bb cream or cc cream.

For ingredients, please refer to picture of box below.
Packaging wise - this comes in a super handy stick-twist-it-type like a lippy which can be easily carried around.  It is made of sturdy plastic with cover that locks well which protects the balm from getting messed up.
The primer is made of balm like almost silicone-y substance that glides well unto skin prepping it ready for a smooth make up application.
As seen on pictures below, the stick may look peachy but once applied on skin, it does not have a bit of tint.  It's colorless so it won't alter the color of the foundation or it won't make it look overly done.
From my experience, what it does is that it tries to cover the large pores so it won't be that obvious.  For ladies with almost semi-deep scars from acne, this primer fills in those craters making it look flat so when you apply the foundie the skin will look flawless too.
Since, this balm fills in the spaces of the skin like pores and scars,  I think getting rid of it thoroughly by the end of the day is necessary to avoid clogging the skin which may lid to acne.

As for the longevity,  this primer helps the skin oil up lesser than the usual.  My skin is innately super oily and from what I observe it helps my bb cream or cc cream stay longer. I am satisfied though, a few touch ups can easily solve the grease dilemma.
Frozen Blossoms thoughts:
I have been using this everyday on my t-zone area and I'm most glad how it kept that area looking less greasy and smooth hehehe.  This one will be best for ladies with oily skin and whose pores are slightly visible.

So that's it for today, I hope to drop here more frequently...anneong!!!
