Review: Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream

Hello Thursday!!!

I started this blog because of my enthusiasm for whatever thing related to HALLYU culture and everything adorable under the sun.  However, being a mom gives me the need to share stuff on child rearing and baby care too (expanding lol).  So for today's first post on baby care...the Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream for Dry, Sensitive Skin.
Just an overview...my baby boy's skin has been innately super dry and "moreno", exactly my opposite (my skin is quite fair and pretty oily).  But, we both share the same level of sensitivity and prone-ness to skin irritations.
Product Description
"Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream is clinically proven to provide immediate and lasting relief from extremely dry skin. Its unique formula and superior system of emollients and humectants binds water to the skin, preventing moisture loss." (from the tub)

Main Features
Skin immediately feels hydrated and smooth.
Its is non-comedogenic, fragrance free and dermatologist recommended.

Ingredients:
Water (Purified), Petrolatum, Glyceryl Polymethacrylate, Dicaprylyl Ether, Glycerin, Dimethicone (and Dimethiconol), Glyceryl Stearate, Cetyl Alcohol, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, PEG 30 Glyceryl Stearate, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Benzyl Alcohol, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Hydroxide, Acrylates/C10 30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Dimethiconol, Disodium EDTA, Lactic Acid

Net Weight: 16 oz (453g)
Aside from hypersensitivity, my baby boy has been battling skin asthma too.  The folds of his arms and legs are extremely dry and itchy and his soles and palms are peeling excessively.  It is wearisome to see them sore from his involuntary scratching when exposed to heat and sweating. I have tried several baby products but nothing seem to work for his skin not until his pediatrician introduced this.  Cetaphil products are quite expensive in our country, one item ranges from PhP600.00 up.  Good thing though, my in-laws from the states generously send us tons of these product from time to time =).  I am sincerely grateful for their overflowing support and love. =)
The cream is pretty thick and creamy but it is easily absorbed by the skin.  I usually apply this to my kiddo's body twice a day, mornings and evenings (concentrating on severely dry and scaly areas like the folds on his arms, legs, nape, neck, soles and palms).  I am pleased by how lasting it keeps his skin moisturized / hydrated.  With constant application, the flakiness and dryness on his folds drastically improved and the itchiness ceased.  Aside from that, the excessive peeling of his soles and palms gradually stopped too.  I must say his skin now is normally smooth and soft with this as his maintenance.
Swatched and tried it on my skin...it feels light despite the thickness of the cream.  And it instantly gave the supple feeling =).
It comes in a big tub.  It is honestly not ideal for travelling hehehe.  I wonder though if they got this one in a smaller tub =).  So, just imagine our luggage when going out of town with all the enormous stuff hahaha.
Frozen Blossoms' thoughts:
Definitely a high-five for this product!!!  Everything about it is much much loved.  This will always be a necessity in my household.
I love that it is super mild and fragrance-free.
The exceptional moisturizing properties improved my baby's poor skin condition.
It gave him the instant relief from itchiness caused by the severe dryness.
It is very suitable for dry and sensitive skin of any age.
It is dermatologist recommended.
It is locally available.
It is highly recommended!!!

Till here mommies!!!  Mwah!!!

Pimp Your Phone!!!

Good afternoon Sunday!!!

It's good to wake up on another damp morning with love ones!!!  I find the mood utterly wistful...a warm chocolatte with husby undeniably sets my restless heart =).  In these moments, I usually bore him with my KPOP tales, online finds and streaming experiences lol and he'd always joke around how excessively I shop sometimes hehehe.  So, i'll share a part of our chitchat, my first ever Instagram shopping experience.
Thanks to my colleague and "kumadre", Ma'am Jess, for introducing Crownedvelvet.  This Instagram shop got a range of hip and chic yet reasonably priced cellphone accessories, definitely pocket friendly!!!
Ommo!!! This Anna Sui is definitely enticing!!!  I adore its uberly girly-ish, princess-y and kawaiiness touch.
It was an absolute make over for my Iphone 4s!!!  The phone itself is a picture of urbanity plus this beautifully detailed casing is indeed beyond perfect!!!
Pink is my most fetished color; very exquisite, very dainty, very KPOPped hehehe.
Bookcases are furthermore imperative for they provide a vast protection to our most loved cellphone (A decent phone costs us fortune so it is but normal to fully shield it).  This Kate Spade bookcase is indeed simple but chic in its own way.  I just adore splash of colors.  I never get tired of anything fun and really gaudy.
Another PINK in the house hehehe.  The holder is a premium hard shell case, sturdily tucked to hold the phone into safety.  The side that touches the lcd is made of something velvety that protects it from the chaotic stuff inside my bag.
Lastly, I got this Cath Kidston bookcase in exchange of an item that is unavailable.  I describe it as provocative. The color red and almost kinky pink with the traditional white polka is a brave choice.  The shade that I wouldn't get normally for it is quite more than the word, loud.  It is good to try new things sometimes hehehe.
The inside is a durable lacquered hard shell with also velvety material that protects the whole phone.
It was indeed a blow out!!!  I can't wait to get more hehehe.

Till here mwah!!!

Latest Korean Skincare and Cosmetics Haul

Hello Thursday!!!

Today is just soooo dreary.  My sluggishness is preventing me to do something productive.  I have almost spent half of my day drifting off and braffing...call me maybe baby lol.  Thus, before I get lost in my world, lemme just share the up-to-the-minute stuff I seized from two of my favored online sellers, Kkochi Pida and Gailygirl.
Tadaaaaahhhh...my third bottle of Etude House Wonder Pore Freshner!!!  Perhaps I can now deem this as the first Frozen Blossoms' holy grail.  I keep coming back to this toner every time something goes off-beam.  Its gentleness calms my troubled and frazzled skin.  I am truly smitten =)!!!
I find Etude House Skin Malgem Emulsion relatively interesting, so I got myself one too.  I have been using this for a week now and truthfully my skin has not reacted violently so far =).
Day by day, I am starting to notice fine lines around my eyes plus they are always puffy and dull, that's why I also grabbed Etude House Eye's Cream in Vanilla Moist.
Ilocos' extremely  hot weather makes me sweat-y, so I also added this Etude House Put Your hands Up Deo Multi Powder in Friendly Vanilla too.  Hehehe I always love Vanilla (wink: calling fellow Christian Grey lovers out there lol).
Of course I will never skip blemish balm hoard-ing...I am a sucker for this make up plus skincare thing.  So, another my-first from Nature Republic, the Botanical Fresh BB Cream SPF30 PA++.  I hope my skin will love it!
I am running out of pressed powder, so I as well purchased one from Nature Republic too, the  Petite Pact in #23.
Finally, I fancy anything cute-sy stuff, so I added one from It's Skin, the Babyface Pore Powder.  It looks very promising though...no regrets! =)
I guess, I have stashed a lot which will keep me engaged.

Till here and enjoy the rest of the day!!! Mwah. =)

Review: The FaceShop Face It Aqua Tinted BB SPF20 PA++

Good evening ladies!!!

Today is heaven-graced because it is in fact my dear husby's birthday!!!  I know... you must be wonderin' WTH am I doin' hehehe.  Well, we were already done with the family dinner  and some catchin' up with the in-laws.  Finally, a time for the guys to socially lubricate their thoughts hahaha...it's now their time to quaff till dawn. =)  The eccentric "ME" decided to consume my night with a new review.  Actually, this BB I'm goin' to share is something that's been makin' a fuss for years now...it's the The FaceShop Face It Aqua Tinted BB.
Product Description
The FaceShop Face It Aqua Tinted BB aims to provide a comfortable and light coverage which is composed of 70% deep ocean water that keeps the skin greatly moisturized,  radiant and clean.  It also contains purslane extract that makes the skin calm and trouble-free.
a previous promotional material for this set
the newlook of Face It line
Available variants:
01 Light beige
02 Natural beige

Content: available in 20ml and 40ml - I got mine in 25ml which is part of the Face It BB Special Kit
Availability:  This is still available at any The FaceShop branches in its new and re-branded packaging.
Price:  Face It BB Special Kit for PhP500.00
Since I got this as part of a special kit, packaging is quite pretty and cute in a squeeze-it-upside-down-type tube, very handy right? =)
This BB is very much suitable for oily / combination types of skin, as the name implies, it is water-based BB cream.  And since it also contains purslane extract  (With Mr. Google's help this extract has exceptional anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and anti-skin allergies benefits.), I suppose this is also excellent for troubled or acne prone types of skin.
The cream is agreeably textured...almost velvety.  It is not that creamy or watery.  I love that I can easily blend this evenly unto my face without hassles.  It is surprisingly matte for a water-based cream. It easily sets off once blended while giving the skin a notable glow. I know, these statements are quite contradicting but it actually feels matte( not greasy at all) but the finish is really luminous. It looks like I used a volumer under. =)  I tame it though by setting it off with my loose powder.
This cream feels airy and light on skin.  It is good to keep the pores unsuffocated.
As for the coverage, you can build it from light to medium.  It perfectly evens out the discolorations on my mouth and nose surroundings and hides minor acne traces on my jaw line and chin area.  To those who are battling severe cases of acne or blemishes, a separate concealer is needed.
Oil control is reasonably good,  I oil up lesser with this BB on,I do touch up on lunch breaks and blot my face with tissue once in a while. As for the claims, that it can help heal acne, I guess I'll have to update that.  I have been battling this problem fairly and I must say that the present zits so far are healing with the aid of skincare of course. To this point, some have already subsided and some are still raw, good thing the cooling effect soothes them though. =)

Frozen Blossoms' thoughts:
I was not blessed with an unflawed clear and healthy skin.  Mine has always been super sensitive, oily and acne prone, a dilemma I share with some ladies of any age.  I am grateful though for this kind of cosmetics that can at least make us self-assured and poised despite the nuisance.

I like this because...
  • it has SPF20 with PA++
  • it smells great
  • it is not greasy
  • it feels light and comfortable on skin
  • it feels cool and calming
  • it sets easily
  • it is good for troubled/ oily / combination skin
  • it is sold locally
neutral
  • healing promise (will update)
  • light to medium coverage
So that's it!!! Night night!!!

Accessories: KDRAMA Memories

Anneonghaseyo!!!

It is, yet again, a stormy evening and I hope that "all and sundry" are safe and sound. I have constantly adored Korean Dramas from the time I first saw one.  To those who had been visiting my site knew that my madness dawned when I first saw Boys Over Flowers. From then on, I was completely drawn to the addicting HALLYU wave.  It was an absolute turn around for me.  I started paying attention to KPOP, Korean fashion, collectibles and accessories which were highlighted on much loved K-dramas.

For this reason, I would want to share my most recent finds.
Who could ever fail to remember the notable Jun Pyo and Jandi's "Kissing Star" necklace?  The scene when Jun Pyo surrendered his feelings through this bling is definitely one of my unsurpassed Kdrama moments!!! I have always wished to own one.
I happen to read Andy's post, a blogger I look up to, on K-accessories and there I discovered Khristine's Everything Korean Fashion Finds selling countless Korean stuff...really affordable ones.
Without second thoughts, I grabbed some which included of course a replica of the Boys Over Flowers Kissing Star necklace.  I got it for PhP190.00 per piece only.  It is silver plated though... I am hoping to get myself the sterling clone once I am no longer on a tensed budget hehehe.
Subsequently, I also grabbed the Star necklace from He is Beautiful drama.  Invincible Taekyung and fragile Go Minam's love story evolved on blinding stars.
Not surprisingly, I need to have mine too hahaha. (fact: I am a star-shaped-stuff buff).

My very own Star necklace for PhP190.00... it is silver plated too just like the BOF necklace.  It is a quite obvious replica though =) but I don't mind; a sterling one will cost fortune which I can't afford yet at the moment . =)
And then, there was my first love--hearts!!! I grabbed this not only because I fancy heart jewelries but because I fell head-over-heels with the Kdrama, Full House.
Certainly, this memorabilia won't pass me. For only PhP180.00, I own a silver plated clone of Han Ji-eun's necklace (Song Hye-kyo).
Last of all, I need to grab the funky bullet necklace of the City Hunter, Lee Yun-Sung (Lee Min Ho).
The bullet and leather make one very rugged and tough looking.  It is something that tones down the girly-me a bit and sport something boyish for a change.
I got it for PhP230.00 (wholesale price).  The retail necklace doesn't have the projectile though since it is prohibited by law, so the casing or the shell is used instead. =)  I cannot contain my excitement and wore it first among other collectibles.
I wish to preserve the memoirs entrenched in every movie or series I see.  You see, I'm quite a very sentimental and partly delusional individual hahaha...certified fangirl!!!

That's it ladies...anneong!!!

Review: Etude House Precious Mineral Sun BB Finish Powder SPF15 / PA++

Good afternoon Sunday!!!

It's been a murky week anywhere here in the Philippines due to the exaggerated cloudburst and at long last, we can now catch a glimpse of the lucid skies and the dazzling sunshine. I miss the warm and high-spirited atmosphere!!!  To mommies like me, it furthermore means catching up with tons of laundry and thorough house cleaning (easily done hehehe).  Consequently, before I take my noontime forty winks, I'll just drop a nippy post about another baby, Etude House Precious Mineral Sun BB Finish Powder in SPF15 with PA++.
More often than not, I receive scores of queries on how to "matte-ify" my dewy BB creams or liquid foundations. I just typically set them with any darling pact I have on my stash.  But then again, since my skin has been dismaying lately, and I oil up more than the usual,  I decided to get myself something to control the oiliness of my cover ups lol.

Product Description
This Etude House baby is part of the the Precious Mineral SunBB collection specifically formulated for summer and the hot weather.  It is a finishing or veiling powder intended to promote a silky-smooth skin texture while keeping it luminous at the same time through the efficiency of infused pearl mineral powder.
Price: I got it for PhP295.00 from KKOCHIPIDA
Content: Net Wt. 5 g (0.17 oz.)
Availability:  all Etude House branches and online resellers

It is neatly tucked in a sturdy high grade plastic tub that can be carried anywhere anytime...very very handy indeed. =)
It comes with a washable velvety puff to effectively gather powder for an even and light application.  It truly feels soft on skin.
The tub got tiny holes for a controlled dispensing too.
The powder is finely milled...can compete with the overly priced or impractical high end western brands loose powder.
slightly blended it, so you can see how fine the particles are
The powder feels satiny and light on skin, picture below shows how translucent it is when blended.  It won't make the make up look excessively done like you have tons of foundation goin' on your face.
Oil control is unexpectedly and exceptionally great.  I love that I can wear my dewy BB creams on terribly hot humid days or when I am up for a casual day.  It is also great to touch up make up anytime.

This one got a tolerable scent...not so mild and not so strong... definitely not the ahjumma whiff. =)

Frozen Blossoms' thoughts:
My skin is innately oily and I am presently battling break outs.  As much as possible, I try to stay away from anything that can make me grease up more, that's why I love this baby.

Likes
  • very affordable

I guess that's it for today!!!

Have a blessed Sunday ladies!!!
