Product Feature: Skinfood Hair Magic Pad

Hi ladies!!!

Do you usually clip your hair with a clumsy clamp or tie it in lousy elastics?  Do you pin your bangs with hair clips or simply keep them away from your face with a hairband? Typical scenes of a working mom or woman on a rush lol.  However, have you noticed that these habits of tying up the hair; may it be wet, damp, towel-dried, air-dried, or naturally dried, keeps a permanent mark or curve especially when you had it re-bonded or treated?  Awkwardly and guiltily, you can catch me with either one of the messy hair do's at home or at the office almost everyday or mostly when I'm washing, cleaning or doing my face.

Tonight,  I'll be sharing something cute I found's the Skinfood Hair Magic Pad!!!
Product Description
Hair Magic Pads are cutely shaped, ingeniously colored Velcro that acts as adhesive to hold the hair lightly.

Content: 2pcs magic hair pad per pack
Price: PhP50.00 per pack
Availability:  I am not so sure if this is officially retailed per pack or it was created as freebies on store or branch purchases.  I found mine though on Ebay. =)
Honestly, these were not my first Hair Magic Pads.  I had a pretty ribbon-shaped Liole once given by Charm of Kkochipida / Korean Cosmetics for Less but I lost it during one of my seminars out of town.
I adore Hair Magic Pads since they hold my bangs away from my face especially when I'm at home without leaving the stubborn wave and since it doesn't grip hair strands tightly, I don't fear of gettin' additional falling hair.
To use:  simply place it over the part of hair you want to be held hehehe and it sticks there gently.  If you want to get rid of it, simply remove it.  No fear of peeling all your hair off from the scalp like some kind of a heavy-duty packaging tape.  It's so feather-like, you won't even notice something is up there hehehe.
Taekyung come and collect this star lol!!!
Frozen Blossoms' thoughts:
What a creative way to think that velcro can actually hold the hair safely and gently right?  Whoever thought of this first indeed got A's for the creativity and resourcefulness.
I definitely adore these hair magic pads and I'll definitely buy them over and over again. =)

Nyt nyt!!! =)

Review: Holika Holika Jewel light Blusher 01 Sweet Pink

Good morning wet and misty Ilocos!!!

The year 2012 will be over in 48 hours and I have still piles of logs to carry out.  Well,  to live is to have fun right?  We only walk this furrow once, so it is always harmless to set aside the small things that can be done one step at a time.  Anyways, it is the holidays!!!
Nevertheless,  before I go get some stuff for the New Year's eve...lemme share my darling blusher at the moment,  Holika Holika Jewel Light Blusher in 01 Sweet Pink.
Product Description
Holika Holika Jewel Light Blusher is an ultra light, very dainty with super subtle glitters blush on to give the face an exquisite and natural color.

Available Colors (These are the newest shades on the jewel light line):
01 Sweet Pink
02 Bitter Peach

Content:  5 g
Price: PhP295.00
Availability:  Unfortunately Holika Holika is not yet sold locally but then you can get this from online shops that sell Korean cosmetics and skincare.  I got this from Korean Cosmetics for Less at a sale price.
Packaging wise,  I like that it is designed in a handy compact type mainly for convenience and practicality.  Design wise,  the plastic material used is quite frail and will break off once dropped.  It is something minimalist in contrast to the usual Holika Holika magical-inspired packaging trademark.  It reminds me of the equally popular drugstore brand, Canmake from Japan.

Picture below is the back part of the compact which contains the expiration date and other details.
As for the blush on itself, everything about it is much much loved.  Honestly, it is my everyday and on-the-move touch up to give my blunt face some life.  It is so light in the sweetest touch of pink and I don't fear the "I-got-slapped-by-the-baddie" look when I flush or oil up.  The powder particles are really milled well which makes it velvety and blend-able on skin.
My swatches (taken under natural lighting) below show the pretty-not-yet blended color.  I say true to my words that the shade is soft so it might be troublesome to those who wants more. It also has the subtle glitters that give instant luminosity (I find it hard to capture though).
It's best to use a blush brush or a complexion brush with a soft animal natural hair to attain the gentlest blush you want but then if you prefer a heavier shade I suggest you use a bronzer brush with synthetic hair to gather an added volume of the powder for a denser color. Blending and more blending will solve any  uncertainty though hehehe.
Aside from those mentioned earlier,  this does not scrape off the foundation or bb cream that has already been applied.  It does not cake as well as you go through the day when oil is starting to have its way.
Frozen Blossoms' thoughts:
I am a sucker for the prettiest and softest shade of blush ons ever that is why this Jewel light collection is box office hit to me.  This will be loved by ladies who wants to have the no-make-up laid-back look and I think it will best fit ladies with medium to fair skin complexion.

So that's it today... time for a power nap!!! Anneong!!!

Review: It's Skin Power 10 Formula VC Effector

The weather here in the north has always been muggy all through out.  Thankfully though, the afternoons start to become breezy and chilly.  I love the melancholy it brings about...moments of warm coffee and hot chocolate with family are purely beyond price.  Apart from the wistfulness, it is also the time when everything becomes almost arid.  The skin is no exemption. It gets flaky and prickly as the season change.  So, it is always pleasant to deliberately change a part of your skincare routine.  This afternoon's review will be about It's Skin Power 10 Formula VC Effector.
The It's Skin Power 10 line is formulated to specifically address the different needs and concerns of the skin.  Below are the now 11 variants and their brief descriptions (source:  It's Skin English Website).

Among the array of colorful options I chose to try the VC Effector,  I bumped on this line when I got a sample from one of my online purchases.
my used up sample sachet
My skin was really unpredictable at that time (last week of November).  The office turmoil kept me awake almost every night, plus my eating habits worsened its state.  I guess, the situation got my cells confused lol and began to excrete the hateful sebum while part of it lacked the moisture.  So, it is a total mayhem of partly oily and partly parched face!!!  That's why, when I saw the sample on my stash I decided to give it a try.  My skin adored that one sachet that lasted only for about a week.  It made me search the net and get myself the retail size.

manufacture date - stamped at the bottom of the bottle
Packaging wise, it comes in a handy mango-yellow-tinted not-so-thick glass bottle which I think will break when you drop it.  It also looks like a baby's daily vitamin with all the round shape plastic cover and dropper.
The dropper has this rubberized cap that securely seals the serum and keeps it from spilling.  Aside from that, I find it new but convenient way to gather or suck up the serum.  As a mom, I got so familiar with droppers while my baby boy is growing up hehehe.  I never realized just now that they are also convenient tools used in skin care =).  Lastly, it also has a separate cover made of breakable plastic that protects the white rubber cover pump.
The essence's or serum's consistency is quite the right mix of richness and runny-ness.  I find it very suitable for both oily and dry skin plus putting our temperature into consideration.  With its lightweight formula, everything is easily absorbed by the skin once applied, just a few seconds to tap it and voila the skin is left with nutrients and no trace of grease or stickiness at all.
I have started using this last week of November while it's all muggy here and it felt so light and not sticky on skin.  So, this is also very good to moisturize the skin even on humid days.  I have continued using it till this windy December and I'm pretty much satisfied by how it kept the skin hydrated all through the day.
essence on my hand
As I have said earlier,  on dry seasons, my skin tends to oil up and some part tend to dry up.  It feels tight and coarse when you touch it though it looks shiny all over when you look at it. Apart from that, the sebum outbreak makes my skin crazy too. Pimps go mad and excited to join me this holidays as well lol. So, while I treat the pimps, this essence retains the moisture on healthy areas and moisturizes the surroundings of the drying zits without aggravating them.
few seconds after it was absorbed by the skin
I regularly apply a tad amount at night only after my usual skincare regimen.  I like how it makes my dull and lifeless skin bright especially on mornings.  It's like feeding it with enough nutrients that were lost while I enjoyed neglecting myself with my poor lifestyle =).
As for the claims that it can lighten freckles which I don't have,  I am optimistic though that it can contribute to the fading and even-ing of the dark marks I got from acne especially on my jaw line.  As for the current and raw zits which are usually red.  I find them quite tamed and the redness receded while I regularly use this essence.

Frozen Blossom's thoughts:
I honestly love the way my skin is loving it.  Like any other skin care thing,  results don't appear in a zap.  It usually starts from deep within, gradually heals, and helps the skin.  I particularly love the Vitamin C infused for it does give wonders.  Once I'm done consuming this, I'll have to try the Power 10 VB Formula.

This serum or essence is highly recommended to ladies with combination and uneven skin tone and can be used during both humid, wet and dry season.

That's it ladies.  I'm  off to our Community Christmas Party. Goodnight!!!

Review: It's Skin Babyface Finish Beam 02 Gold Beam

Hi ladies!!!

Are you done with your Christmas list?  Have you decided which one to wear or how you'll look on the night of the 24th?  Well, before the most awaited day, lemme share one fine suggestion on how to fake a glow lol.
Product Description
It's Skin Babyface Finish Beam is another highlighter from the Babyface line endorsed by one of my favorites, the Thai Prince and 2PM leader, Nichkhun Horvejkul.  It is formulated in a bright and pearly texture to give the face and body with a gorgeous yet natural brilliance.  It can also be used on the clavicle and shoulders for a 3d look.

Available Variants
01 Pink Beamr
02 Gold Beam

Content: 5 g
Price: PhP225.00
Availability: I got it on sale-- Korean Cosmetics for Less

How to use:
1. Foundie Routine
2. Apply on areas that need highlighting:  cheekbones, nose bridge, chin, forehead and brobone.
3. Blend it well and you may build it depending on the glow you desire.

The signature packaging of the Babyface line comes in peachy baby-ish pink containers with angel wing accents.  Honestly, I never grow tired of the cuteness.  I adore every inch of their style.  It's like almost impossible to use it.
The finish beam is tucked in a very handy and sturdy plastic compact type which makes it very convenient to bring around.
The back part contains all the basic details like barcodes, shade, website and most especially the manufacture date.
The finish beam may look powdery and cake-y inside the compact but in all honesty, it's not, especially when properly applied and blended on areas that need highlighting.  It does have a powdery yet velvety feel  and it sets pretty well on well buffed skin.   This does not cake the liquid foundie or bb cream as well.  It does not also emphasize the fine lines on the face.
My swatches below show how pearly and glaze-y it really looks especially when the light hits the surface with the beam on.  It gives the skin a incandescent glow in the most natural way even when I oil up.
Frozen Blossoms' thoughts:
I definitely adore this thing and I have been using it since I got it first.  The picture  above shows how worn out it is for the babyface angel engraved on the powder itself was already erased.  Since my skin is pretty oily,  I surely prefer a powdery beam rather than the liquid one for oil control is way way better.  My skin is not perfect and I have been honest all through this blog but somehow these products keep me glowy and presentable.

Till here... gotta go on my last round of Christmas shopping.  Be safe ladies!!!

Review: Etude House Wonder Pore Clay Clear

Hello ladies!!!

Life had been pretty rough lately...been through a lot of stress and sleepless nights which caused my skin to break out big time.  Instances like these are indeed very depressing!!!  It should be the happiest time since only few days more to go and it will be Christmas, however, sometimes situations go out of hand.  Well, good thing though I am lucky to have my ever loving family and friends around to help me endure and persevere.

Today,  I'll be sharing one thing that keeps my raging skin calm... Etude House Wonder Pore Clay Clear.
Product Description
Etude House Wonder Pore Clay Clear is formulated with pure glacial water and oxygen-delivering "carbonated" ingredient to effectively and deeply cleanses dirt, oil and other skin impurities for healthy and clean pores.
7 in Total Pore Solution (from the box)

  • Balances the skin's ideal ph (acidity) level
  • Refines the skin tone
  • Keeps the elasticity of pores
  • Deep cleanses pores
  • Minimizes the appearance of pores
  • Controls a large amount of the sebum
  • Moisturizes inside and outside of skin
Net Wt. 100g (3.52 oz.)
Price: PhP678.00
Availability:  Available at all Etude House branches and counters and online sellers
Please find the list of ingredients below for your reference.  You may click the picture to for a larger view.
How to use:  It is prescribed to be used 1-2 times a week.
1.  Clean face with your favorite facial soap/ wash.
2.  Towel dry it.
3.  Apply layer evenly all over the face avoiding hairline, lips, eye area and brows.
4.  Leave it for 15 to 20 minutes  or until clay mask has completely dried out.
5.  Rinse it off with lukewarm water to help pores open a bit.
6.  Wash or brush face with Pore Cleansing Face Brush for deep cleansing.  Since, I don't have the Wonder Pore brush that is sold separately, I use my old Smashbox blush brush with overly dense and stiff brushes (that's why I don't use it for applying my blush on) in the absence of a pore brush.
7.  Thoroughly wash until no residue is visible unto face.
8.  Towel dry.
9.  Tone the face.  I use the Wonder Pore Freshner Toner.
10.  Moisturize skin.

Packaging - It comes in a conventional blue sturdy plastic tub.  I think it is most appropriate to use a tub for clay masks in order to efficiently scoop out the product up to its last speck.
It has also a plastic top apart from the tub's cover to keep the clay from leaking or getting exposed to air.  I think it is very useful since clay masks tend to harden when not properly stored.
It also comes with a free spatula upon purchase which efficiently scoops out the mask.  Though some may find inconvenience on a separate applicator that needs to be cleaned every after use, that doesn't bother me that much.  In fact, I like that it comes with this thing to keep my fingers from dipping in the tub to gather the mask.  The spatula makes it really hygienic.
I suggest to wash it after every use.  The clay residue can't be removed by a tissue paper once ti hardened.  The picture below shows the white tinges after I used it (needs to be cleaned asap).
The clay mask looks certainly odd and muddy.  It is gray in color to be exact and it feels like thick foam or frost.
My picture below shows how it looks like once applied all over the face.  Please excuse my out-of-this-world funny look.  Once the product touches the skin,  it does have a very slight tingly sensation which is not much of a bother.  As the mask hardens you can also feel the skin yielding and tightening lol.  And right after you wash it off,  you feel the skin instantly refreshed but a tad dry.  That is why I put serum after it.
alien invasion lol
Frozen Blossoms' Thoughts:
I have bought this few months ago after it was launched officially because of my contentment with the Wonder Pore Freshner Toner.   I use make up almost everyday that is why I wanted something to deeply cleanse my pores once a week plus as I have mentioned earlier my skin have been in a very bad shape since November.

After sometime of using this mask I find my cheek area refined and some of the old traces of acne and blemishes have lightened plus present reddish acne are  moderated.  It helps calm down my troubled skin. It may not instantly heal all imperfections but atleast it helps my skin to recover gradually.

My picture below shows right after I have washed the clay mask off my face lol.  Again, please do excuse my no-make-up-unedited-alien look hahaha.
I over all love the radiance I get and the suppleness and plump-iness of my skin gets especially at mornings when I wake up.  I hope that my skin will continue to improve as I continue to use this.

This clay mask is highly recommended to ladies who want a better skin tone, healthier pores and to those who are battling mild skin imperfections like me.  FYI though, it is formulated to thoroughly cleanse or unclog pores preventing future blemishes caused by impurities that settled inside the pores (primer, foundation, etc.).  It is not an alternate solution to heal acne.

For extreme cases and highly sensitive skin types though, it is always best and safe to consult the dermatologist prior using it.

Till here and have a safe and blessed weekend everyone!!!
